The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore Baku, the captivating capital and commercial hub with a stunning coastline along the Caspian Sea. Take your time to discover the medieval charm of the old city, featuring the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and the iconic Maiden Tower. Modern landmarks, such as the Zaha Hadid-designed Heydar Aliyev Center and the Flame Towers, await your exploration.
Overnight in Baku.
After breakfast, embark on the Absheron Tour. Visit the Ateshgah (Fire Worshippers Temple), a historic site used for Hindu and Zoroastrian worship during the 17th and 18th centuries. Explore “Yanardag” or “Fire Mountain,” a natural gas fire on the Absheron Peninsula that blazes continuously. Enjoy shopping on Nizami Street and discover the vibrant atmosphere of Fountains Square, a public gathering place with a rich history.
Overnight in Baku.
Transfer to Gabala for a day filled with exciting activities. Explore the “Tufandaq” Winter-Summer Tourism Complex, offering cable car rides, skiing on different difficulty levels, and other amenities. Visit the picturesque Nohur Lake and witness the stunning Yeddi Gozel (Seven Beauties) waterfalls in Gabala. Enjoy the enchanting panorama and, if you’re up for it, climb the stairs to see all seven waterfalls. Transfer to the hotel and stay overnight in Gabala.
After breakfast, transfer to Sheki, a historic city situated 700 meters above sea level. Explore the Palace of Sheki Khans, a summer residence built without a single nail. Visit the Upper Caravanserai, now a renovated hotel, and discover the Museum of Carpets, Shebeke craft workshop, and Sheki bazaar. Don’t forget to check out the local sweet shops for the famous Sheki bakhlava. Transfer back to Gabala and stay overnight.
